"Journalism will kill you, but it will keep you alive while you're at it."  - Horace Greeley

Shiyu (Shelly) Xu

Born in Xi'an, China,  I traveled far away from home to America alone, fearlessly, to pursue my dream as a journalist.

I recently received my bachelor's degree from Boston University's College of Communication - Broadcast Journalism. I am currently pursuing my master's degree at New York University in Multimedia Journalism.

I have worked as a reporter intern both locally and internationally at Somerville Neighborhood News, WBUR news, WGBHCGTN-America, and The China Press. I have also served as the Executive Producer at Amber BUTV10 - a student-run television program on campus through my years at BU. Right now I produce stories for NYU's online publication PavementPieces
